I actually created something
« on: December 21, 2009, 10:40:58 PM »
I think this is the first time I've ever made something culinary. :P It's a smoothie; if you're into that sort of thing you should try it because it's AWESOME!

1 cup pulp-free orange juice
2/3 cups vanilla fat-free yogurt
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 to 1 banana (depends on personal preference)

I am predicting 0-2 people will actually try it. 8)

I love smoothies!

I make them all the time during the summer, same ingredients too. Except I generally favor blueberries.

I even have one of those blender thingys that you just put right in the cup and press a button.

I use blueberries instead of the strawberries and without the banana, but it just isn't as complete as the one I posted.

yeah, in the winter they aren't as cheap nor good (fresh).

But sounds good :)
I usually just put whatever fruit I have and I haven't found a bad combo yet.

I'm not that into smoothies but that sounds pretty good. I'll have to try it sometime

I came up with this one too by combining similar recipes:

1.5 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter
.5-.75 Banana (best frozen and chopped beforehand)
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (I would advise just using simple whey protein, the thought of creatine et. al. grosses me out)
2/3 cup milk

Great for post-workout recovery imo.

It tastes just like a vanilla milkshake, the egg doesn't add any flavor, just makes it creamy.

Are you sure the egg doesn't make it taste nasty. I ate raw eggs before and I would have spit it out if I wasn't trying to be manly lol

The sugar and vanilla practically mask the egg. It doesn't taste like liquidated eggs... But you could make it without the egg if you want.

That might come out a little gross. I'm pretty sure the vanilla is what makes it not taste like eggs. But go for it.
