so in cross country we always give away paper plate awards (ex: miss congeniality, MVP, prettiest smile, inside jokes, etc.) and last year me and 2 of my friends were annouced in this way at the banquet "we couldnt think of a way to separate these 3 people so we decided to give a joint award, the plastics" and it got all silent and our coach was pissed because he hates her and they said i was gretchen, hah

i wasnt really that offended, i kinda thought it was funnny.

xcbabe, I totally agree!    The 10 Things I Hate About You  is great. I love that movie  <3
and yes, Slumdog and Gran Torino were great too.

and I think Employee of the Month was a cute movie.

and Forrest Gump and all running related movies are awesome.

and on a side note, there is a kid on my xc team who's name is Forrest  :)

From the ones already mentioned - Die Hard, Star Wars, LOTR and Forest Gump are some of my favorites. But I'm assuming most people have already seen these, so I'll reccomend things which I doubt any others have seen.

A Scanner Darkly - about a future America where 20% of the population is addicted to a drugs. The main hero (Keanu Reeves) is an undercover cop trying to infiltrate a drug gang, but due to him using drugs, which causes his perception of reality to change, he ends up spying on himself without realizing it. It's probably got the most clever plot of any movie I've seen, full of twists and turns, and a huge, huge twist at the end. Also, it's real camera footage which has been animated, check out the trailer. It looks really cool, and really suits the drugged up nature of the show.

The Theory of Flight - one of my favorite movies. About a terminally disabled girl (Helena Bonham Carter) trying to get laid before she dies. It's actually really funny, and while the premise makes it seem a bit of a joke, it's one of the most moving movies I've seen. I don't normally watch girly movies, don't judge me! I accidentally discovered it when I was renting out videos a few years ago, I had two, but there was a deal where you can get 3 for the price of 1. So I grabbed any random movie which happened to be this one. I actually just realized it's all on Youtube, so if you want a movie you probably wont forget, here it is!

Mine too. He used to HATE it when people yelled "Run Forrest Run" but now he doesn't care and he just laughs.

Oceans 12 really? Another movie i've started but never finished. I thought it sucked. Oceans 11 was awesome though, so I was bummed 12 wasn't great. I never saw 13  :-\

I just watched The Crow last night, its an older move (80's 90's) and slightly sin city-ish. I really liked it though.

Haha idk about that, but you can at least count on consistency with his movie since he's basically the same character in almost all of them.

The Departed - Won Best Picture in 2006 I believe.  Probably more.  Really gripping crime story.  Just the premise alone is tension-filled.  Follows two guys, one is an undercover cop posing as a member of the Irish mob in Boston.  The other, a member of the Irish mob in Boston posing as a cop.  As the movie progresses and their roles in each organization grow, they go from generally staying out of each other's way to being on a direct collision course.  Each one has the threat of the other guy blowing his cover because each camp is aware there is a mole among them.  Plenty of twists, violence, and swearing.  Not really one to watch with the parents, but still great.

Rocky Horror Picture Show- Slightly messed up (okay, really messed up), but it is a classic musical. The songs all kick ass.

I forgot Rocky!
